For the glass connoisseur, Akua Objects presents The Clara Collection - a series of unique artworks to be enjoyed at the table or admired as sculptural expressions of light and color throughout the home. The Clara Collection marks Akua Objects’ third fine table art series.

The collection takes its name from Annika’s younger sister, Clara - her dearest lodestar. Clara embodies quiet strength and timeless femininity; she is a true femme fatale who adores lace, the rhythm of horseback rides, and, above all, the melancholy beauty of autumn.

Each glass draws inspiration from mid-century lacework, crafted with filigrana canes that capture the delicate silhouettes and shifting patterns of woven lace. The color palette reflects Clara’s favorite season - autumn - expressed through opalescent tones of warm amethyst, smoldering orange, deep oceanic turquoise, and rich moss green.

Filigrana, a traditional glassmaking technique dating back to the 16th century, involves layering, intertwining, and fusing long rods of glass before wrapping them around a cylinder, blowing, and shaping entirely by hand. Our designs blend several filigrana styles - mezza filigrana, reticello, and zanfirico - to create a modern interpretation of timeless Venetian artistry.
