When Josefine laid eyes on the design, it stirred tender childhood memories—of visits to her grandmother, Barbro, who cherished delicately engraved glasses from the early 19th century. Moved by the story, the duo chose to name the glassware Barbro in her honor.
The Barbro glasses celebrate the elegance of the classical souvenir glass while embracing a contemporary design with a squared cup and sculptural stem.

Each piece is patiently engraved by the hand of a master, possessing its own poetic character. The motifs are hand-sketched by Akua Objects, reflecting their design philosophy. The bow motif symbolizes unity, enriched with Art Deco inspired engravings, while the playful depictions of mushrooms, flowers, and horses celebrate the beauty of nature, the freedom of galloping, and Annika’s horse-filled childhood.

Together, these elements capture the essence of contemporary elegance, weaving art and the natural world into harmonious form.

Collection

The Barbro collection is dedicated to the grandmothers of Josefine, who both had the Swedish Reijmyre glasses with a bow in their homes.

Each glass is engraved by the hand of a dedicated master using the classic techniques for decorating wine glasses. To us, the bow represents a connection between almost lost memories and contemporary square expressions.

The Barbro collection is dishwasher safe. We recommend dishwasher programs up to max 50°C, the glasses are not suitable for hot beverages.

Shipping & Returns

Akua Objects ships with two different shipping companies depending on your location: GLS (Denmark & Sweden) & DHL Express (International).

All orders are dispatched within 1-5 working days, given that the product is in stock. During public holidays, the time of delivery must be expected to be longer.

Return

The costs associated with the return will be covered by you. The item must be shipped without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you have received your purchase. The deadline is complied if you return the goods before the expiry of the 14 days.
